As school events begin to pile up, an important element not just to North Canyon but to any high school in America begins production: the 2024-2025 Yearbook. As a part of our Yearbook Production class, I and the other yearbook staff are excited to show our school what we are planning for this year’s yearbook. Although I won’t share much as most details are still being worked out, be prepared for the yearbook staff to be out and about.
But don’t take it directly from me as I had the opportunity to interview our head of staff, Mrs. Becker. The interview began with the question some people were probably wondering; How many yearbooks have already been preordered? Mrs. Becker stated, “While we don’t have an exact number of how many yearbooks have been ordered due to it still being early in the year, there have been more preorders this year than last year”. In addition, I also asked how she planned for the yearbook to get this year’s book done to which she said, “I plan to make sure the class works together and collaborates to present the best book they can make”. Finally, when asked about her goals Mrs. Becker said, “My goal for this class is to make them create their book for their year.”
Additionally, some returning members have added their input, as I interviewed Hailey, Alex, and Tyler, three of the four returning yearbook staff members. When asked about what they planned to improve on from last year’s book, the three unanimously agreed that they planned on completeness, with Hailey saying, “A problem with last year’s book was completeness as people weren’t completing their spreads, and that is something we are going to actively do is to make sure this book is complete to the fullest. In addition, since Hailey and Alex are seniors, I also asked what impact they planned to leave with not only the yearbook but also the Yearbook Production class with both of them stating, “We plan to make this class seem fun since a lot of people think you don’t do much in it but in reality its super fun capturing this year’s events and making it into a thing you made.”
