Jonni is one of our star athletes on the varsity volleyball team and has been an excellent student in the classroom, not just on the court. She has been playing volleyball for 4 years now! What encourages her to keep playing are her teammates and that keeps her motivated to keep going, she loves the sport so much and has so much to strive for it. She wishes to continue her volleyball career throughout college! She is a multisport athlete she does basketball, flag football, and track.
A bible verse she lives by is Philippians 4:13.. “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”. Isaiah 41:10
Another verse she lives by is, “‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ [Acts 18:10]” .
Here are a couple of things she has to say about this season!
“This season started off really well, but we’ve had a few hiccups & I believe that we will get back stronger & really push throughout the rest of our season. My favorite part about my position is blocking & getting kills. I play middle blocker. To prepare for a match against a strong opponent I tend to pray before a strong opponent and ask God to prepare my mindset and my body for the game.. also for pregame I listen to worship music. A game I remember vividly is the first game of our senior season. We came out so strong with such contagious energy & it was the best game we’ve ever played together I believe. We finally came together as a family and as a team to use all of our strengths to beat a team.”
