What is a better way of getting into the fall spirit then a list of the top five vampire movies of all time? Use caution as some of these movies are either rated R, or unrated.
Starting off with number five on our list, we have The Lost Boys from 1987. This movie is about two teenage brothers who moved to a small northern California town with their mother. One of the brothers meets a pair of friends while the other brother, falls in love with a leader of a local clan of vampires. Even if this movie was made in 1987, this film is still a Halloween vampire sensation!
Next, we have Let the Right One in from 2008. This movie is about a 12-year-old boy living with his mother in Sweden. The 12-year-old is a delicate but bullied Swedish boy. He meets his neighbor who was formerly a boy 200 years ago but as a vampire is a girl. After they get comfortable, the neighbor reveals she is a vampire. This movie might not stand out, but it sure is sinister.
In this next movie, a cowboy meets a girl at a bar, they both fall in love, but this turns out to be a problem. The girl turns out to be a vampire thirsting for blood. The cowboy is forced to choose between family, or love with his girl. This film is also from 1987, and it is called Near Dark.
Following that, in Bram Stoker’s Dracula a 15th century prince is forced to live off blood for eternity. A young lawyer is sent to Dracula’s castle for a land deal, but when he sees a photo of his dead wife, he imprisons him and sets off for London to track her down. This is a unique 1992 movie that nearly everyone has seen.
Finally, we end with Nosferatu from all the way back in 1922. Don’t let the date deceive you as this silent film is a must-watch. Nosferatu was actually based on the Bram Stoker Dracula novel, but the title and character names changed. If you were to watch any vampire movie, I recommend Nosferatu from 1922.
With these Halloween vampire classics, you are sure to have a spooky time. Watch with a friend for an extra good time!
