I interviewed North Canyon’s new head coach Anthony Johns who came from Heritage Academy High school in Laveen who has coached for 18 years.
When asked what he loved about coaching he replied with” I love football, teaching to players, affecting players life outside of football and the player to coach relationships that are built.
His goals for this year were to be competitive every varsity game, develop the younger guys. Build a culture that enables players to be themselves while following standards of being the best student athletes they can be.
I asked Coach Anthony Johns, “How does he plan to make North Canyon have a winning record this year?”
Coach Johns said, “We are going to coach our players the best we can. At the end of the day, the players have to make the plays.”
“We are going to put them in the best position to be successful!”
