North Canyon’s First Assembly This Year!

North Canyon's First Assembly This Year!

North Canyon welcomes its students to start the year strong with an amazing assembly to inspire us all!

With it being Spirit Week, school pride and excitement are in the air! Only one thing could make this week an even better start to the year: an assembly! In an exclusive interview with North Canyon biology, chemistry, and Student Government teacher Kelsey Seitzberg, we covered how planning assemblies go and the workings behind putting it all together.

She commented, ” We brainstorm what fits the teams, like how this one is football-themed and straightforward games that depend on the themes. Since it’s our first assembly and it’s spirit week, we’re trying to focus on unification, everyone coming together, and getting the crowd pumped up. whereas towards the end of the school year, it’s more focused on competitiveness because of class wars.”

Later in the interview, I asked if there was anything they couldn’t say or do in assemblies. And how many classes or clubs get involved with assemblies? Mrs. Seitzberg stated, “Later in the year we do try and get as many clubs and classes involved with assemblies but since it’s the start of the year it’s harder to get that involvement”.

Our student government works hard and diligently to make our assemblies entertaining and full of school pride. in return make sure to participate and cheer loud and proud!
