Friday night lights FNL for short, this is what made high school memories. Two football teams coming together to play in front of friends and family. A club at high school, the sports medicine team, helps these players get ready to perform.
Every Friday feeling the rush of adrenaline just like the players. Because we were standing right there on the side line, taping players, feeling that pressure from the stands and peers. Before games, having to rush and tape athletes before they went out, and with your help they are able to perform to their best. It’s a relationship between sports medicine and playing sports, athletes need to feel safe and that is what sports medicine student aids were able to achieve. Fun memories were made here being surrounded by a bunch of silly guys for at least five hours a night, it changes you. Focusing around your friends in order to do the right tape job or give the right care. Also still being able to know what to do in case something goes wrong but to have fun and just live in the moment as well.
The memories from those Friday football games and grabbing a slushy before the game started. Being with the athletes and being able to help them with whatever they needed is a good feeling that doesn’t go away.
