Did you know the top toys of 2016 are nothing like today’s? In 2016 most toy companies had just started including more modern technology. In 2016 many toys had consisted of being from tv shows such as Monster High, Barbie, PJ mask, and more. The toys also mainly were interactive and had functions and purpose such as being able to use the toys for multi functional and more use. but toys have changed since then, costing more, being more high tech, and more and more plastic use and battery use.
Number five we have ” Num Noms,¨ they were discontinued in 2020, and have been slowly making a comeback as Yummiland body scents. They were big and even had a mini series on YouTube with two seasons called ¨ Num Noms Snackables. They were toys that could stack on top of each other that came in different scents, and looks such as deserts, and food items. They had Nail polishes, Lotions, Lip Glosses, and more.
In number four we have ¨ Pie Face ¨ It was popular with online influencers, and youtubers. It gained its popularity in ads, and with families as a family friendly game. It was a family friendly game where you put whipped cream on a plastic hand and spun a wheel and cranked the hand, and if you cranked it enough you would get the whipped cream on your face to replicate the popular joke ¨pie in your face¨. The popular game was inspired by the comedic joke and is still sold today with a newer version.
Number three we have Shopkins, Shopkins where little figures are based on real life foods, drinks, and items. They came in different colors, patterns, and were mainly in sets. They were soft discontinued as of 2024 and stopped releasing in 2023, and transformed to ¨Real Littles.¨ They shifted their focus to be more like the popular toy today known as ¨Mini brands.¨ The Shopkins app was discontinued in august 2022 ending digital engagement. Shopkins were well known for their little faces, and even had a mini animated series on YouTube and had expanded the Shopkins universe and had some spin offs too. The newer versions of them know as ¨ Real Littles ¨ is more based off of popular food and makeup brands making the product look like miniature versions of the big brands.
In number two we have ” Furreal” pets Furreal pets have been around since 2002 and are still going strong. They are pets with AI, touch sensors, and interactive modes, and cute looks. These pets come as different animals that range from basic house pets like dogs, and cats, to monkeys, and cows, and pandas. They still sell furreal pets today with more updated technology, and cuter and more exotic pets, and even a website.
And in first place, we have ¨Hatchimals,¨ Hatchimals have been around since winter of 2016. They have since then come out with sets, newer models, and more ways to hatch them. They even have a collectors app to see your collection grow. They are animals you hatch yourself and they have all kinds of cute animal designs.
