In the middle of October, the Rattlers went up to face the Scorpions in a heated match. Both teams decked in pink, a crowd of 200 students behind supporting the rattlers.
Warm ups went on like normal, everyone was in the zone. Before the game coach Tulke said to her team, “You guys have got this I believe in you now go and show you believe in yourself.” Rattlers knew the chances of them winning weren’t high but they weren’t going to give up without a fight. The first game starts and the rattlers are up by two. They lose the point and desert edge squadrons take the ball. The rattlers get aced in the back row.
They finally side out but miss the serve, calling the first game a 1-0 for the Scorpions. Next match the rattlers get ahead and win leaving both teams tied 1-1. Both teams now have to go to battle to win the next games in order to take the overall dub. In the end the rattlers came up short with the final score being 2-5 but it was a heavily competitive game against the Desert Edge Scorpions.
Mr. O was able to bring 200 students to the volleyball game and the whole school got extra time for lunch the very next day. Although it wasn’t a win for the volleyball team they all played amazing and left their hearts out on the court.
