This year girls basketball was defined by resilience. The Lady Rattlers secured a key victory against Paradise Valley and Shadow Mountain. This season was about more than the wins and losses it was about the community and connections made. After every game win or loose the bus rides home were always lively and full of laughter. Alia Abdalla JV player states ” My favorite thing about girls basketball this season was the people and the times we all shared”. This years girls basketball was full up ups and downs but according to Alia the times they shared were good enough to be her favorite part of basketball this season.
When asked what his favorite part of the second was Head coach Von states ” …Our one win the Camel back game because I feel like we played like such a team there was so much energy so many people contributed to winning that game and that was you know honestly to me great to see you guys rewarded after all the hard work you put in.”. Coach Von also said “I enjoyed coaching our girls this season because nobody quit.” This quote shows that the lady rattlers had resilience.
Assistant Coach Fawn states her favorite part of the season was “My favorite part of the season was how we all became a family and supported each other, both coaches and players. And the memories that we created”. Assistant Coach Fawn also said, ” as you know I’m all about motivation and I think if I had to leave this season and start looking to next season I would say this we are more than a team we are a family every practice every sprint and every win or loss is bigger than a scoreboard we take care of each other this season we didn’t quit when it got hard we continue to lift each other up and have fun”.
Senior Tyra Schneider senior on the NCHS girls basketball team states “… even when it gets hard don’t give up. I know sometimes it can be hard to want to continue a sport but I promise you it’s so worth it…”. As a player on the girls basketball team I encourage everyone and anyone to tryout. I made so many friends and had so much fun throughout the season. I can’t wait to play again next year!
