Even though it may be around two months late, here’s a little recap of the 2025 dance line holiday party. As a way to end the first semester and everyone’s hard work during the semester we hold a holiday party to celebrate. Our coach gave us a sheet of paper where we would write down some of our favorite items. This sheet of paper would then be used for secret Santa when drawing a name from a bag. It was a way of spending quality time but also giving someone else a gift that would show appreciation towards them.
As the time came around for the holiday party, everyone would be scrambling around to get some last minute stuff they might need for their gift. Our coach always hosts, which means a bunch of teenagers will arrive at her house. Being there she caters us food and provides us with a warm welcome.
As soon as we start to give our gifts to whoever we got, we realize how much effort each and everyone one of us put into that person, which is what it is all about. It doesn’t matter the price of the gift or how showy it is. What matters is that it is obvious they really put in love and effort.
Once we had all finished giving our secret Santa gifts, our coaches gave an announcement that they had a little something to give us. One of our coaches gave us little pouches that had a few cosmetic items and on the pouches it had our names on them. Our other coaches then gave us all team jackets with all our names on them and on the back it saying NC Danceline. It may be small but something it meant so much to us. Being a part of a sport doesn’t only mean practice and trying to become the best, it also means having another family.
