At North Canyon High School on March 6th and 7th a show will be presented in the Black Box. The cost is $5 and anyone is welcome. There will be student-written monologues by seniors beforehand. The plays feature several students from several grades with some playing multiple parts.
This main show is about a girl named Micah who only has twenty minutes to finish her paper. Unfortunately, the internet is a place where boxing cats, Facebook notifications and ads threaten to take over Micah’s schoolwork. The students have worked long and hard on costumes, lighting, and perfecting their memorization.
As the director shared, “The internet isn’t just a tool; it’s a constant interruption. It trains us to look away from the present moment and chase the next notification.” With the new phone laws inside of schools and technology not going away anytime soon, have a laugh and enjoy North Canyon’s upcoming play!
