Meet North Canyon’s new head volleyball coach, Danielle Tulke! Coach Tulke is now the varsity girl’s new head coach and is very excited to be coaching the North Canyons volleyball team for their season. She came all the way from Chicago IL! Her reasoning for picking our volleyball program was that “I was doing my research and speaking with the athletic department to learn more about the program I was finding nothing but positive things. I learned through research that this is a good group of girls who will work hard, respect the coaching staff, and give it their all when playing.”
When she is not coaching at our school she loves to spend time with her puppy on walks and relax by the pool. She started playing volleyball around the age of 8 and never stopped playing from there. She then went on to play through her junior year of college! This is her 8th year coaching and her first year being head coach!
In high school, she played club at Top Flight Volleyball Club located in the Chicagoland area, following high school she played for the club volleyball team at Illinois State University. She also stated, “My freshman year of high school I was an outside hitter, following that high school season my club coach decided to move me to the libero position and that is what I continued to play for the rest of my volleyball career.”
When asked what she is most excited about this season for volleyball she said, “I am excited to help my athletes grow as people and as volleyball players. This group has tons of potential and I am eager to help them reach their fullest potential during the season. I am also eager to observe the growth that happens over the course of our season; those moments where that skill finally clicks for an athlete.”
Two quotes she lives by are, “A good coach will make his players see what they can become rather than what they are” -Bill McCartney and “The difference between a successful coach and a great coach is the ability to inspire and empower their players” -Blinkist
